Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Overall Site Leadership: Directly manage all on-site activities, labour, and subcontractors for a commercial new-build project in Reading, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Serve as the appointed person for site safety, enforcing all company and statutory HSE regulations. Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and regular site inspections to maintain a zero-accident culture.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Oversee all workmanship and materials to ensure they meet the project specifications and quality standards. Liaise with clerks of works, architects, and client representatives during inspections.

- Team Management & Development: Lead, motivate, and supervise a direct workforce and multiple subcontractor packages. Resolve any on-site conflicts and ensure high productivity and morale.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
- Proven Track Record: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Site Manager or Site Foreman role, with demonstrable experience on commercial construction projects valued from £2m+.
- Relevant Qualifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), First Aid at Work, and CSCS Black Card (Manager) are essential. A relevant construction management qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and NHBC standards. Competency in reading drawings and using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject).
