Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Overall Site Leadership: Assume full responsibility for the day-to-day management, coordination, and supervision of all on-site activities, subcontractors, and direct labour, ensuring a seamless workflow.
• Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Excellence: Serve as the appointed site-based HSE lead. Enforce strict compliance with all company and statutory regulations (CDM 2015), conduct daily briefings, audits, and risk assessments, and maintain impeccable site safety records.
• Programme & Progress Management: Develop and monitor detailed short-term programmes, reporting progress weekly to the Contracts Manager. Proactively identify and mitigate potential delays, ensuring milestones are hit.
• Quality Control & Assurance: Implement and uphold rigorous quality control procedures. Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets specification, approved drawings, and the highest industry standards before sign-off.
• Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for the client, design team, and other stakeholders. Lead progress meetings, manage expectations, and foster a collaborative, professional relationship.
• Logistics & Resource Coordination: Plan and manage all site logistics, including material deliveries, waste management, site security, and welfare facilities. Efficiently allocate labour and plant resources to maximise productivity.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven Track Record: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Site Manager / Supervisor role, preferably within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or similar fast-paced construction environments.
• Mandatory Certifications: Valid CSCS Black/Manager's Card, SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and First Aid at Work certifications. Evidence of ongoing professional development is highly valued.
• Technical & Managerial Competence: Strong working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building regulations. Demonstrable experience in managing subcontractor packages, controlling budgets, and using project management software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project).
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a diverse on-site team. Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and client interaction.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a proven ability to anticipate issues, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions under pressure to keep the project on track.
